Both my mother and I have arthritis in our thumbs, so tearing lettuce is painful. I bought this salad knife looking for a less painful way to make salads. This knife is awesome! I have had this knife for a couple of years and it is an invaluable tool in my kitchen. Not only is it wonderful to have a nylon knife for cutting lettuce (to avoid browning), but it is great for cutting into a nonstick pan.

I didn't think this thing would be as big as it was! It's really long so even if you had the biggest head of lettuce ever it would be able to go all the way through the diameter. The teeth of the knife are really nice and sharp. I didn't think they would be since they were nylon. Of course it's not sharp enough to cut skin, but it will get through lettuce with ease.
