Charming performances by hawn and russell and heartfelt direction by garry marshall make this wonderful romantic comedy pure magic. Studio: Tcfhe/mgm Release Date: 04/15/2008 Starring: Goldie Hawn Kurt Russell Run time: 115 minutes Rating: Pg Director: Garry Marshall
Amazon.com:
Real-life couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn star in this enjoyable 1987 comedy by Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman) about an imperious heiress (Hawn) who loses her memory after a boating accident and is identified as the wife of a handyman (Russell). Russell's character brings her "home" to his messy house and unruly kids, and the laughs follow as the aristocratic Hawn tries fitting in. Marshall delivers the comic goods, the leads are entertaining (Russell needs to do more comedy), and the supporting cast is made up of happily familiar faces, including Roddy McDowall, Edward Herrmann, and Marshall favorite Hector Elizondo in an unbilled bit. --Tom Keogh

- Goldie Almost Saves ItIf you liked the Steve Martin version of Cheaper By The Dozen, then this movie might be just the one for you. Goldie Hawn shows a good acting range going from self-centered idle rich to caring down-home wife and mother. The plot is pretty improbable and the transformation of the kids from all-out-brats to model children is even more so.
The scenes move the movie right along and if you're waiting for the chocolate cream pie in the face, it's there. We had to laugh at some of the goofy things ... Read More

- Overboard DVDThis was a gift for my daughter for Christmas. Overboard with Goldie Hawn is one of her favorite movies. Ordering from Amazon was very easy and convenient. I received the DVD in a timely manner and the entire transaction went smoothly.

- ENJOYABLE FISH OUT OF WATER/ROMANTIC COMEDY!Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn's chemistry keep this predictable, but likable comedy afloat. Hawn plays a rich selfish snob who's life needs purpose and Russell plays a blue collar guy who gives her life purpose. After a run in that leaves Russell stiffed for a job he does for Hawn, Russell finds a way to get paid and then some! The story is contrived to say the least, but the kids and the rest of the cast seem to be having fun in this slightly crude and cute comedy. The DVD is pretty basic with a trailer ... Read More

- opposites attractThe word classic is used way too often, especially when it comes to films and books. However "Overboard" is as close to a modern-day classic as any movie has ever gotten. It's like all the suns were aligned to make the perfect movie. It has a great script, an excellent director (Garry Marshall) and some of the best performers in the business. That's why it's almost impossible to believe that "Overboard" was a huge bomb, both commercially and critically when it came out in early 1988.
This is ... Read More

- gotta love Goldie HawnThis movie is always funny. So much better feature length than cut for TV. Great chemistry between Goldie and Kurt. One of my favorites.
