Editorial Review:

Product Description:
For those who want the convenience of DVD and VHS playback in a single unit, JVC offers the HR-XVC11B DVD/VCR combo. For recording TV programs to VHS, the deck includes JVC's Timer Link, a quick and easy solution for recording TV programs by connecting to a cable or satellite set-top box using an AV cable. The user selects the desired program using the set-top box electronic program guide and timer function. JVC's Timer Link feature senses the signal, automatically powers up the recorder and begins recording. Recording automatically stops and the recorder shuts off when the program ends. JVC research shows that the vast majority of set-top boxes come equipped with a timer. Other HR-XVC11B features include multi DVD (-R/RW and +R/RW) and JPEG playback, a coaxial digital output and AV analog input.

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Developed defect after 1 year
Poor reliability. After a year of not too frequent use, my JVC VCR/DVD was unusable--The video output was often distorted in some manner. Tried various remedies, but nothing worked. Wasn't worth fixing. JVC has certainly declined in quality--Maybe because they're now making products in Indonesia.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - JVC has a horrible quality/reliability history with dual decks ...
I recommend buyers look at the Amazon reviews for defunct JVC VHS/DVD
dual deck products before they purchase any current dual deck model.
They have a proven history of extremely poor build quality. JVC keeps
rapidly changing model numbers, which makes this more difficult for
the consumer to discover. However they all look very similar with
only slight cosmetic differences.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Product page gives insufficient information
I purchased this product because the information seemed complete and it seemed to fit my existing equipment. I also saw reviews of other items which were less than cheering. This one was unreviewed, and, thus, a mistake to purchase. When I received the unit, after trying and failing to follow the instructions, I called JVC "product service" who tell me, for the first time, that this model is not supported by a simple cable connection, but needs a box. Thankfully, Amazon sent approval for return of ... Read More
