The Garmin dashboard mount does a very good job of keeping the the navigation device in place on the dashboard. I live in one (MN) of 2 states (MN,CA) that prohibit use of the windshield mounted devices for the navigation devices. Our legislators, in their infinite wisdom, would rather have someone hand-holding, lap-holding, or passenger-seat holding their devices than having it attached on the windshield. This mount makes it easy to place the GPS at the optimum spot for any driver. Stays put on the dashboard even during aggressive driving. Allows the GPS to be quickly put away out of sight from prying eyes. This gadget is a must have if you have a Nüvi GPS.

Rating: - The Perfect Companion
I wasn't sure if I should purchase this product at the time I bought my Nuvi, but I am glad I did. In my area, theft of GPS is too common. This product allows me to quickly move my GPS completely out of sight when I leave the car. And, when it is on the dash, it never slides.

I didn't want to stick my Garmin on the windshield & leave that telltale spot, so I bought this. Put it on the dashboard and it absolutely will not move. It allows you to move the Garmin around. Works perfectly!

Finally I have a Garmin holder that doesn't slide at every turn. Is is also quite easy to exchange between cars.
