READ THESE EASY INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PLACE AN AD:  When inserting your new classified ad it is important to remember to be specific and to narrow the results for the search engines.  For instance, type in a single word like "art" into Google or Yahooo and you will see millions of pages.  Now if you add "Fresno" to the word "art" the results become narrower.  In other words, try to think of the specific term(s) that you would use when looking for what your advertising is all about.

Here are a few basic steps to follow before placing an ad or business directory listing.

• Create an account if this is your first visit
• Validate your account by returning to your email and clicking on the link
• Login using your Username and Password
  

After login you must either select "Classified" or Business Directory".  Now, select a category for your new Classified Ad and then click on "Add Entry".   

The "title" of your ad is critical so think carefully on what specific terms represent your ad content.  The title is the first thing that the search engines see when indexing this site.  It's also the title that will be what people are searching for most often on Google or Yahoo, etc..  Do not use a "-" in your title text as this particular charater generates dynamic url code that will likely cause your ad to not be indexed.

Next add your telephone number, only if you want.  The short description text box is just that . . . a "short" description.  write a few lines that provides the general idea of what you are advertising.  Now, move on to the "Description" text box.  This is where you can write a "long" description about your ad.

Before we go further please note that Classified Ads can not contain affiliate  url's or links.  A link placed in your classified is simply converted to basic, non-funtioning text.  Fresno Mall classifieds are meant to support the sale of an item or service - so please follow these simple rules.  Additionally, the  business directory is soley for local businesses in and around Fresno, California.

To add pictures, connect your digital camera to your computer or have the pictures available on a disk or hard drive.  Write a photo description, browse "your computer" and point to the picture you want to upload to your ad.  The main picture and thumbnail images will be displayed along with your ad content.  

META KEYWORDS: You don't have to come up with any sentences; just list your keywords in order of importance. Include all your most important keywords. Seperate you keywords with a comma.

It's recommended that you repeat the same keyword 3-7 times, but not in a row. Search engines vary in their size preferences for meta keyword tags. MSN, for example, will accept a meta keyword tag up to 1024 characters long, while HotBot specifies 75 characters as its guideline.   Avoid spam by not repeating keywords more than 3-7 times. Up to 3 repetitions is o.k. - just don't place them one after the other.

META DESCRIPTION:  The meta description tag is important in that some search engines use it as a site's summary on their results pages. If they do, the reader may actually see this hidden tag. Make sure its contents are enticing to the reader.  To see how this works, do a search.  The bold print is the "title" that you will enter and the descritption in the search results comes from the META description. 

Choose up to five (5) categories and then add some additional photos in the same manner as previously described.  Click on the "Accept Terms"  (hopefully after you have read them) enter the safety code and then click on "Send" . . . your ad is now active!
